How it Works

  • All Bidders must be registered with an account to bid
  • Registration requires a fee of $10 which will be granted as a credit towards your first purchase
  • Auctions run from Thursday 9:00AM to Sunday 5:00PM, all ads will be up for review by the Tuesday before the auction
  • All horses will have a Pre-Purchase exam performed by a licensed NJ Veterinarian which will be available to bidders before they bid
  • All Horses will have had their feet trimmed a maximum of 28 days before the auction
  • All Horses will have had their teeth examined for issues and appropriate treatment as needed
  • Bidders are welcome to come to view horses as 266 Lanes Mill Rd Howell, NJ 07731 on Saturdays between 11:00 AM and 3:00PM
  • If any bid is received in the final ten minutes of an auction the auction period will be extended by five minutes to allow counterbids.
  • The Final price will be the auction price + 10% to cover payment processing fees and NJ State sales tax
  • When an auction is won you will have 24 hours to process payment through the West Star Horses webpage.  If you do not do so, then the second highest bidder will be notified that the horse is available to them.
  • Winning bidders have 48 hours after the auction completes to arrange for transport.  After 48 hours board will be charged at a rate of $35/day which must be paid prior to picking up the horse.  If transport can’t be arranged West Star can arrange for transport anywhere within the continental United States at a rate of $4/loaded mile
  • All horses come with a 30-day guarantee.  If the horse is unsuitable or not what was desired AND is in the same condition as when it left the property (all horses will be photographed prior to being loaded to validate condition) then it can be returned for auction credit minus the 10% processing fees
